One of the most important things in gardening is to truly, deeply, and passionately understand WHY you are doing it.
We know it sounds simple. But we believe it’s the #1 reason people stop gardening once they’ve started.
When you understand why you do what you do, no amount of failure or difficulty will keep you from achieving your goals.
So we figured we should practice what we preach. We recently came up with several things to remind us of the reason we get up every day to work so hard. What do you think?
Our mission is simple
To inspire people to grow their own healthy food right in their backyard.
Our tagline reads “Feed your inner farmer”
Humans have been growing food for 10,000 years, and only in the last 100 years have we gotten away from that. Agriculture is in our genes. We all have an inner farmer, a need and desire to connect with the soil and grow the food we eat. All we have to do is nurture that desire, and feed the inner farmer!
Who are we?
We are a passionate tribe of people who are inspired to grow their own food in a simple and fun way. Fueled by outdoor exercise, connecting to nature, and the bounty of each successful harvest, we believe in the power of homegrown food to solve many of the world’s most pressing social and environmental issues.
Our Favorite Quote right now is…
“I can think of no better form of personal involvement in the cure of the environment than that of gardening. A person who is growing a garden, if he is growing it organically, is improving a piece of the world. He is producing something to eat, which makes him somewhat independent of the grocery business, but he is also enlarging, for himself, the meaning of food and the pleasure of eating.” ~Wendell Berry
Our simple tip of the day is to know WHY you garden. Write it down. Know it. Feel it.
